SGS Canada and Canadian Food & Wine Institute partner for new food safety program

20170116_C1996_PHOTO_EN_858157SGS Canada Inc. and The Canadian Food & Wine Institute at Niagara College have announced a partnership as part of the institute’s new continuing education program called Expert Edge. The new trainning program, Food Safety Program Optimization (FSPO), offers a new “how to” food safety management training approach designed to target risk reduction and provide tools to students to demonstrate risk-based diligence.

“What makes this approach to training so incredibly valuable is that you are taking a leader in academia dealing with food, wine and beer, and joining forces with the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company,” says Rob Sinyard, Vice President of Certification and Business Enhancement at SGS Canada Inc.

The program includes a variety of certificates with industry and sector-specific needs, including Bakery Brewery and Food Service. It offers a wide variety of courses, small classes, flexible hours and a state-of-the-art campus.  “This new program focuses on delivering hands-on training led by true industry professionals,” says Jeffrey Steen, Manager of Corporate Training at Niagara College. “We have a unique proposition for those seeking to take their careers to the next level in the fields of risk management, auditing and supply chains dealing with food, wine and beer.”
